Naples 22nd Boat Parade • 6-9 • Village on Venetian Bay

Today - December 11 • Naples 22nd Boat Parade • 6-9
The Village on Venetian Bay • FREE FOR ALL AGENTS

The Village on Venetian Bay's 22nd Annual Boat Parade is today at the Venetian Bay. There will be all kinds of things to do tonight I read today that there will be a magic show and Pirates walking around entertaining everyone. Then you get to watch the Boat Parade, like I said early this week there is nothing better then going to a parade with the family. I must say if you have never heard of or witnessed a Boat Parade then you are missing out. Sitting on the grass and listening to the childern run and play trying to catch everything that is thrown there way. That is a Good Time... No matter what your age is.

Come early and dine at any of the fine resturants 0r Deli's that are located here. Bayside, Colyde's Steak and Lobster house and Maxwell's on the Bay to name a few.

December 9 • Naples Christmas Parade • 6-8pm • Downtown Naples

Naples' 15th Annual Christmas Parade
Naples Christmas Parade • 12/09/08 • 6-8pm • Downtown Naples

Tomorrow is the 15th annual Naples Christmas Parade. Come down and watch the faces of everyone around light up. Parades turn everyone into a kid again. Just saying the work Parade brings a smile to my face. No matter how young or old you are there is nothing like someone waving to you like you are the only one sitting on that curb, or when catch that piece of candy thrown in you direction. There is always something exciting going on, the thrill of the police siren belting out as it passes you or the Shriner's riding the little bikes. Parades are just PURE fun for the whole family.

So far there are at least 200 floats/vehicles that will be filling the streets of Downtown Naples. With the main attraction "Santa Clause & Mrs. Clause" closing out the parade. I sure hope to see you there tomorrow. Look out for me I'm the one who will be trying to get all of the candy.

This year the Naples Christmas Parade will start at the intersection of Broad Ave S and Third Street S, then travel north on Third Street S, turning onto Fifth Avenue, and make its last turn onto Eighth Street S and ending at City Hall.

Best Mom and Pops restaurant in Naples

Frascati's Italian Restaurant
1258 Airport Road North • Naples, Florida

We got the chance to eat at Frascati's Italian Restaurant this past weekend and let me tell you this is a must stop for any Italian food lover. We got the artichoke dip to start off with, now this was no regular artichoke dip it was the Mecca of all Artichokes. The creamy cheese and the soft but firm artichokes atop of a crispy slice of garlic bread just the right size for my water mouth to bite in half was only the start of our wonderful meal.

Lins got the "never go wrong with" chicken Alfredo and I opted for the chicken Marsala. Before we could taste any of these we handed this chilled salad bowls that had the most delicious salad dressing that I have ever put in my mouth. It was a creamy Italian that was so tasty I couldn't stop myself from running my finger around the bowl just to get every single last drop.

Then came the French bread, this warm, crispy bread that we tried to push away but couldn't. Now at this point we are asking each other "is this food really this good or are we really this hungry" the fact is the food was really that good. Not one thing we ate in Frascati's Italian Restaurant was sub-par.

Once my Marsala hit the table in front of me I was too full to eat both pieces (which is highly uncommon for myself). I have never had Marsala like it was served here, it had ham with it, I've never seen that before but let me tell you this that ham was perfect and the mushrooms - to die for.  That sweet Marsala sauce dripping from each warm bite of perfectly grill chicken; you cannot go wrong with that.

Linsey's grilled chicken Alfredo was ridiculously good as well.  It wasn't your normal greasy Alfredo sauce that we all are so use to, this sauce was thick and creamy.  Even the leftovers the next day were not oily.

We both brought food home and we ate for less then $50.  You cannot beat that, Not in this town.  I highly recommend this Frascati's to anyone who lives or is just visiting Naples, Florida. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in all of Southwest Florida.

Watermark Grille Naples

Watermark Grille Naples
11280 North Tamiami Trail • Naples

This weekend we thought we go and eat at the Watermark Grille in North Naples, just north of Immokalee Road. As soon as you see the place you will want to eat there, This wonderfully lit round building set right off Tamiami Trail. There are fountains galore, as soon as you walk in you see the Hand painted murals and elegant etched glass; it's just a relaxing atmosphere.
My fiance choose the Mahi Mahi grilled and topped with a lobster sauce, she LOVED it. I got the NY strip steak (well done) 13 oz but it seemed like it was a full pound. Let me just say you will not go away hungry when you eat at the Watermark grill. My steak was juices and the topped mushrooms made it all the better. I am sorry to say we were way to full to eat a desert so I will not be able to update you that one but as for the overall meal and atmosphere, This place is wonderful. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Naples Florida and is look for great restaurants to dine at.

Fourth of July in Naples

4th of July Parade and fireworks.

Parade 10 AM
Fireworks 9 PM

This year will be the first time that we go and see the parade on 5th Ave. From what I hear it is a pretty good time, I really do not think that I have ever attended a parade where I didn't have a good time. I'll let you know next week how everything turned out. Maybe we can dine at one of restaurants on the bay while we are there.

Later Friday afternoon we will venture down to the Naples Pier to catch the forth of July fireworks show. We are told there is over 1000 shells of fireworks that will eliminate the skies that night costing the city more than $30,000. The City is telling us that they are prepared for nearly 20-30K patrons to be at the event. We have been to the fireworks show and I must say that it is close to one of the biggest "City" shows that I have ever seen. The fireworks reflecting off of the Gulf of Mexico and lighting up the Naples Pier. What a beautiful time.

1200 5th Ave South, Naples, FL 34102 • 239/263.2734

Last night we decided to check out "The Riverwalk Fish & Ale House" located within Tin City.  As soon as you walk into this restaurant you will feel like you are at an "authentic old style" waterfront restaurant.  With the outside waterfront dining tables to the fisherman's wharf style decor. The food was as fresh as it could be I had the Fried Grouper Sandwich and my wife ate a hearty portion of bay scallops.  You cannot go wrong with this place great food and an exciting atmosphere to surround you.

Admission
Adults $10  •  Students $6  •  Child 6-18 years $4

If you love nature then this is a must see for you and the whole family.  The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a wildlife smorgasbord, on any given day you may stumble upon a great blue Heron catching minnows in the shallow water while a huge alligator is right beside him basking in the warm florida sun or maybe you will hear the singing of the bull frogs with their deep voices echoing through the swamps cypress tress while you watch a humming bird flutter from flower to flower extracting the nectar from each one.  Anything in nature is possible when you visit the Sanctuary.

This is 2.25 mile long boardwalk which winds through a true cypress forest, that will take you back in time to the "Old Florida".  This happens to be the largest virgin bald cypress forest in North America, if that isn't reason enough to come and visit then I do not know what is.  When you leave the sanctuary you will have already planned your next visit by the time you make it back to Tamiami Trail (Highway 41)

Children ages 3 through 12 $10.50
Children ages 2 and under Free

The Naples Zoo is a must stop while vacationing in Naples, Florida. There are many exhibits to see and shows to watch throughout the day. The many different sections of the zoo really keeps the crowds coming, like the African Oasis with it's jumping Impalas and gazelles and its rutting River hogs. It really makes you feel like you are on a real safari. At mid-day the gator feeding at Alligator Bay is where you want to be. You can see enormous gators fight over their lunches, jumping out of the water to snag a piece of chicken.

Throughout the day you can do just about anything you would like. There is a very exciting Primate Cruise (my favorite) that you float around and see all the monkeys, apes and of course the lemurs. (I cannot get enough of them) It is about a 20 minute ride so it is perfect when you need to cool off and take a break. It seems as if the primates think we are the shows and they are there to watch us!

I'm sure you will love it here at the zoo and I'm sure you would love the lemurs as well.

Pinchers Crab Shack - Tin City in Naples, Florida

Today's weather in Naples, Florida
High 87
Low 70

First off let me just say that today was the beautiful summer day which lead into a perfect Naples night. We found ourselves at the world famous "Tin City" tonight eating blue crabs at Pinchers Crab Shack. If you LOVE crab this is the place for you, they serve any kind of crab that you could ever want, blue crab, Dungeness crab, king crab and of course snow crab. This has to be home to some of the freshest seafood in all of Naples. As one of locals favorite restaurants Pinchers offer more then just crab they have fresh Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Salmon, Tuna, and Shrimp and everyone is cooked to perfection, not to mention the non-stingy sized portions.

Enjoy your favorite cocktail and take in all the enchanting nautical views of the Naples Bay.

Dining on the Bay - Naples, Florida

Here is a look at the newly Opened Scenes on the Bay.

Located at • 489 Bayfront PlaceNaples, Florida 34102

Scenes on the Bay, just had it's grand opening this past weekend. The relaxing feel of this upscale restaurant with its multiple tv's, live entertainment and views of the Naples Bay makes you not want to leave this place. We only stopped in for a few drinks so we didn't get the chance to sample the food but from what I could see and smell I know it had to be good. I did read over the menu and was surprised on how diversified it was. With Asian, Caribbean, Italian and American food there is sure to be something here for the pickiest eaters. And with one of the most impressive beer and wine list in all of Naples how could you not stop in for a drink or two.

Here is a shot from our table we sat at over looking Naples Bay.
