The Old Naples Pub
255 13th Avenue South (239) 649-8200
WOW! That is all I can say about this little pub located off of 3rd Street. I dinned there yesterday for lunch and let me tell you if you don't walk away full and happy from this place then something is really wrong. This little pub has a very cute outside dining area and a small inside dining area that I loved. Every table had its own jar of pickles (on of my favorite foods) and the feel of Old Naples. As you look around you will find news clippings from years past, photos of the Naples Pier being built, article on the history of Naples as they were unfolding in the early 1900's. What a great atmosphere!
I ordered the UnGrouper sandwich, this thing was the size of my forearm. It hung well off both sides of the 8 inch bun and was so wide that I had to eat half of the plank before I could even pick up the sandwich. The tarter sauce was right on the money too, I should have asked since they only gave me a shot of it. I opted not to get the fries because I was thinking I was going to take it easy, by no means did that happen. I ate and ate but could not put down this mammoth of a sandwich, yes I was defeated by the UnGrouper, I hate leaving food on my plate but I had to on this day.
My coworker opted for the Fish Wrap, Oh did it look good. A much smaller piece of white fish wrapped in a tomato wrap with their coleslaw lining the inside.
If you are looking for a relaxing laid back place to eat then the Old Naples Pub is for you, look hard because you may drive right by it.
